Haul : Nail Polishes from Pretty Indulgent.Com!

Oh. My. God.

I always felt left out of the nail polish bandwagon. Why? Because of that imaginary line between what is called the United States of America and Canada. That line ladies and gentlemens is magic. It makes shipping cost double, triple and sometimes even more.

There's another imaginary line that exist inside the Canada itself too. The line that's all around the Province of Quebec. We, Quebecers, speak french for the most part and have laws to protect our beloved language, but those laws keep stores like Sally's Beauty Supply out of our reach and make it that much more complicated to get stuff.

How ever!

I was reading Scrangie's Blog and she had recently a post about some discount code, one being good for prettyindulgent.com to give you 15% off using the code "scrangie"(good until march 15th). I went over, without any hopes that the shipping would be under 20$... and then when I went to the faqs section I read that if you live in West Island of Montreal, Quebec, or near, you can meet up with the wonderful Maggie herself to save on shipping. I almost fell off my chair!! 15% off and no shipping? HELL YA!

That's when I wrote back and forth with her and we had a little meet up ( where I was totally shy let me tell you.. I felt awefull of just standing there and saying thank you.. I had so many questions to ask! ) and I got 11 bottles of nail polishes that I bought myself by the way. I was in heeaaaaaven! :) Being in a country ( and a town ) where most brands and company over charges or even doesn't ship at all, I was trilled to get those bottles of goodness. Of course, they're a little more expensive than on the US website, but I truely felt that, even without a discount, I would be paying a good price. Anyway, here are my new babies!

Over all experience!? Flippin' amazing! Would I order again? For sure! Shipping in Canada ranges from 7,80$ in the Province of Quebec, to 16$ in Nunavut. If you order for more than 125$ you can also get 5$ shipping! ( here's all the rates : :D )

Pretty Indulgent doesn't only carry collections from Color Club, China Glaze, Nubar, OPI, Orly and Zoya, but they also carry Arcana, which is a soap, bath, body care, perfume brand, Villainess, which is the same type of company as Arcana, and Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab will be there soon too! They also have some others little jewelery and embelishment.

With my order I got a sample of a soap named Krakatoa from Villainess and I'm pleasantly surprise..! When I openned my boxed, all I could smell was that.. and it's pretty good! I like the scent a lot and it's always nice to have a little extra gem in our orders, right? :)

Anyway, comming back onto the polishes.. I'm in love. I feel like an entire world just opened for me where I can now get cool nailpolishes for a decent price.. Just to tell you, I really love Nubar Reclaim, Nubar Absolute, Orly Halley's Comet  and Zoya Tiffany at first glance, although I'm super excited for them all :) There's not one that I don't like! :)

Long life to Pretty Indulgent and thanks for reading,
Marie~~

What I got for Christmas!

Hello!

So this is going to me my what I got for christmas post, and trust me, the picture above represent ALL I got ( exept for money and Gift Card to the movies and the mall which I almost already spent entirely (things I bought with that money that I have at the moment are in this post ) ). I did not only showcase the "makeup" stuff. I got ONLY makeup, and pajamas + socks, but that doesn't count, everyone get those, right? :)

If some of you want to know, I had a great christmas overall with the person I love. I saw friends and close-close-close family, which is all that kind of matter to me. My mom being raised with 9 brothers and sisters who have kids that have kids that will maybe soon have kids... I seriously will  NEVER want to see them ALL at the same time! The less headaches I have, the better I feel !

So, onto the present! Be assured that I thanked everyone that gave me everything, even a christmas hug !:) I'm gratefull for everything that I got and even if it's hard, I try not to take a thing for granted.

First of, I got my very first makeup mirror, because believe it or not, I used to do ALL my make up, even the crazy things, with a pocket mirror... I know, it sounds super ridiculous, but now I feel a lot better to have my two hands free while applying things all over my face!

Then I got a box which was painted by one of my mom's friend only for me :) That means that it's the ONLY one like that in the world and that I'm the lucky girl who as it ! My mom got it mainly so that I can carry my brushes and a little make up in a sturdy box so that my brushes don't break apart and that the make up stay safe. I like it really much and for now, it's a decoration on my desk :)

Then I got some MAC stuff from my boyfriend, my mom and I also bought some with a gift card.
-I got MAC Fix + mainly because I always wanted it. I used it a couple time for foiling shadows and pigments and I like it very much! I no longer believe the " You can use water, it'll do the same job "! Fix + works way better in my book.

-Then I got 3 lipsticks, one from Back to Mac-ing and two from my mom!
The first one, Please Me, is a matte lipstick. It's seriously not as drying as I thought it would be, but do not have chap lips under that! It'll look so gross and patchy ( talk about experience here!! ).
Then the two next one which are the one that my mom got me ( you knew that already huh? You can't back to MAC for Viva Glam! ) are the Viva Glam Cyndi and Viva Glam Gaga. Those are a lot more forgiving on winter lips ( again, experience is in the house! )

-The next thing is Painterly paintpot, which I got to replace my Soft Ochre one which is dead-done. I think I like it better since it has a pink undertone which suits my skin a lot better!

-Beside that is something my boyfriend got me, the Black Track Fluidline. Remember that Buxom Leatherette lash liner!? Well I used it 'till nothing was left. I needed a new Gel Liner since it's basically all I used to do my winged liner and I kind of said it to my boyfriend.. So now I have a new one! I started using it on the 1st.. Let's see how much time it takes to go through!

-Then there's Gesso Eyeshadow, matte basic white, that I got from my boyfriend also. You can also see in those pictures how I depot my eyeshadow by the way! :) I'm a nerd who like to depot MAC things.. And I'm so serious.. :)

-The last MAC item is Dame Powder Blush which is a satin finish ( my large pore like matte or satin, no shimmers and/or glitters! ). I haven't played with it quite yet, but it's an occasion to see how I depot blushes.. I put a round piece of magnet underneath the stickers :)

Then, I got some MARK/Avon things.
-I got those 2 MARK make up bags which are SO pretty to me, I LOVE them! ( and I've been bugging my mom for them since ... June? July? ahah! )
-Then there was those to Avon product in my stockings. One of them is a Nourishing Banana & Coconut Milk  shower gel and the other is an Antibacterial hand gel in Nourishing Vanilla. I haven't tried these yet.

The next thing up is 16 Glamour Doll Eye Full Sized loose shadows. You might be like " Phhft!? 16 !? I learned to count at 5 and I aint no see 16! " well, you're kind of half right. There was a slight mistake in my order that made me the owner of two Trophy Wife and left out without Lovers Lane ( which is red ). It was quickly fixed by the lovely Vee and I'll get it soon :) ( as well as other things, but that another story ). Right now I can say much, I haven't played enough with them, but I love them so far!!

I know, it wasn't the place for swatches, but I couldn't resist! Those are one swipe swatche.. I KNOW, RIGHT!? Crazy! Crazy in love!! My boyfriend got me an Inglot Palette for christmas ( I was with him, I choose the colors ) I cannot leave this thing... I'm SO in love, it's insanely bad xD I really want ( and will, I'm sure of that ) will get more and more Inglot shadows. It'll be an easy task for me, I live near 3 different stores! Expect tutorials, Eyes of the day and loads of things comming out featuring this bad boy <3

Not much to say here, but worth the mention. In my stocking there was 3 eye brows razor thingy and 2 nail files! Those things can always come in handy!

Next up is the is the one before last christmas actual gift, which occurs to be the L'Oréal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara that one of my aunt gave to me. I asked for it since I really wanted to try it! Not being a fan of the regular clumpy Voluminous mascara, I really enjoy this one! I'm such a rubber bristle lover :D

Then I got myself the Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye make-up remover, which I'm not sure about yet.. It's says oil free but it's so oily at the same time... I dont know.. We'll see!

Then there's the LA Slash Splash Proof Sealer Eyeshadow Sealer/base that I got myself on recommendation from Petrilude. He swears that it's THE things to keep glitters on your eyeball and since it was only 7$, I picked it up!

The two Wet n Wild palette were bought a week before christmas, but I wanted to put them in a "haul", so here they are. The left one is Night Elf, who came with a kind of good eyeliner, and on the right is Snow Sprite, who came with a crappy silver eyeliner. As for the palette themselves, they really good! I enjoy the Color Icon range a lot!

* Are you done yet!? No.. But soon! :)*
Then I got myself some lush with christmas money! If you're not aware of it, Lush have CRAZY deals starting on dec. 26. Every thing christmas is BOGO free and so are every soaps! I got a little more than that, but they're for a lovely friend of mine, so they're not featured here.
-First, I got a 40$ worth of Angel's Delight ( or as you can read it, in french we say "Délice des Anges" and that sounds kind of soft and sensuals xD Oh well ) I ask if the manager ( like, the manager there actually WORKS in the store, and she's so feakin sweet! ) to divide the price in half since I wanted a big chunk of it, and she kindly did it for me!

-I also got a Candy Cane bubble bar, simply to use it since it smells so dang good,

-And I also got a " Matriochka ". It's like the russian dolls, you know, there's a doll in a doll who ate a doll etc etc etc!? Well same concept here! There's two piece of Soap outside that smell like the So White Bath Bomb ( or like apple if you're not that cool to know ( just kidding :D )) and inside there's an actual So White bath bomb ( remember? it's the apple scented one! ) and a cinders bath bomb ( which smells like cider actually ).

*Keep on reading! There's 2 pictures left!! *

Then from Loblaws which is a grocery here in Canada, I got some Joe Fresh Cosmetics ( yes, I went in the grocery ONLY for makeup, it doesn't mean that I have a problem or anything... right? )

- I got a set of Joe Nail Polishes that I haven't used yet but I'm sure they're fantastic.. I fell in love with them when Alicia Aka FunnyFace beauty sent me one... They stay on my nails 10 times better than my OPI ones!

-Next thing is a Joe Fresh Lip Gloss in Poppy. Out of the tube it doesnt smell good at all, but after only a few few few seconds, the smell goes away and you're left with a really pigmented lip gloss, as of now, I like it.

-Then I got a Clear mascara and brow gel ( don't you love those easy names!? ) for my brows.. Mine are thick enough to only be tamed, no filling needed!

-Lastly is their Fine tip liquid eyeliner in Black. I had it before and remember liking it, so I thought why not!?

Last picture, but surely not the least...
My dad went to see some family with my grandmother in California, home of Dinair Airbrush. My parents and I talked about airbrush for a little while, like way before my dad knew he was going in Cali, and I told them that I was interested and all but never really though that I would get it! Just before he left we were talking about it and browsing their website and he saw that where he was going was super close from the Dinair Head Quarters and talk about it with my mom. Since this kit fell into the Christmas Budget this year ( no money questions please, those things doesn't regard you guys! ) They agreed on getting me a starter kit. This is by far most present I ever got for Christmas and I'm really happy! I'm still trying to get the hands and skills on this.. It's kind of hard!!

I really hope that you guys enjoy this post, it took me a little to gather up everything, but now I'm happy that it's all done :)

Please feel free to leave comments, requesting reviews or just being nice :)

Much love, and thanks for reading!

IMATS Extraverganza :D

( Have you ever saw a boyfriend smiling like that when he has to go to a make up show? :D )
Long time no post!
It's been two weeks since I've post ANYTHING here!! I need to get more serious, I truely love you guys! Blogging is really fun! :)

Anyway, let's get on the topic here. Last week end I've been blessed to attempt IMATS, or International Make Up Artist Trade Show. It was an overall awesome experience! For a seventeen years old make up addict like me, it was really close to paradise on earth. I was expecting bigger, but when I got it, at 8:30 on saturday, I remembered that it's only the second year that they have an IMATS in Toronto, so it'll grow bigger with time :)

Let's insert a little story here. I don't live in Toronto, well, I don't even live in the province of Ontario. I live 6 hours of non-stop drive from the city, and my lovely parents, who were really awesomly kind enough to take me there, drove from where we live to there. With just a few mathematic skills, you can understand that we left the house at 23:30 on the friday night to get there on time! And since I was to exited for the show, I slept maybe for 30 minutes to an hour max that night, when I woke at 8:00 on friday morning. Needless to say that I was tired at the end of the day!

So, IMATS, ( focus Marie, focus! ). When I got inside, it took only a few seconds to pass from '' Oh well, it's kind of small '' to '' Remember, it's only the second year '' endind by '' OH CRAPP LOOK THERE'S MAKE UP FREAKING EVERYWHERE!!! '' ( ask my boyfriend, this last sentence is almost a citation , ahah :D ). Me and my exitation first decided to go by the Make Up Forever booth, but quickly went away, to much people already, and my exitation couldn't wait 40 minutes right after comming in. So I headed to Naked Cosmetics, which was just in front.

Their basic deal ( because their were other one, but not corresponding to my non-make up artist status so I don't remember them ) was buy one stack for 30$, buy to for 50$. As you can see, I got two stacks. The first one, called Shock Effect, is the one I choose. It's pretty much an assortiment of bright bright colors, which I adore! ( the yellow one is a stunner when it's wet, just saying ... ) And the next one, choosen by the marvelous boyfriend is called Urban Rustic, which is a bunch of earthy and more natural colors. He choose this one after saying '' Well, you know, with that tower of brightness I think you should think about getting a more neutral one '' Ahah! He's knowing it now! He kind of has to, I'm almost always talking about make up...  I'm sure he knows more about it than certain girls... He can even say sometimes when a foundation is not matched of blended, when blush is applied too heavily or when liner is too too thick of just wiggly... That's my man! Ahah! Anyways, those pigments can be used as many many things, but this is not a review. If you want a review, request it! :)

So next I I went to Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, or OCC, and I regret not getting more of those lip tars. Serious awesomness there..! I joined the lip tar picture here with the one thing I got from Nigel Beauty Emporium, which is just a make up retailer. I simply got a metal palette, because I'm starting to build my kit!

Not much not add to this one! The lip tar color, which each were 10$, I got is called Pageant, again under the recommendation of the boyfriend. I was looking for a pretty vivid pink, and he got it right! :) I seriously love those, I'm looking foward to get more! For the metal palette, I don't really have something to write.. I guess I can say that it's made in Pakistan, it was something like 5 to 10 $ and that the brand is Monda! Ahah!!

Next booth we hitted is the NYX booth. Serious delirium there. A whole bunch of girl fighting for eyeliners! Ahah! I got some good deal there.
I started with the falsies. The crazy one on the left were 8$ if I correctly remember. They are not for an everyday use, just to let you know! They are called Unstable ( EL 188 ). This is again, a boyfriend choice :). The one next to those are more natural. They're called Breeze ( EL 108 ). I'm pretty sure those were 3 or 4$, and they also come with a tiny tube of glue ( which is seriously as big as the picture on the packaging! ). Next are the lip stuff, starting with a Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Gold ( 105 ). I'll talk about it more in a future post, but I found a use for it that I quite like! :) Next to it is a Jumbo Lip Pencil in Chaos ( 724 ). Those are under rated. The only person I ever heard talking about them is Emily Noel on youtube, and she's right, these are good stuff! ( Even better when you get them for 3$ ! ) I also got two regular lip pencils, which were 2$ each. Left side is Hot Red ( 817 ) and right side is Pinky ( 835 ). I'm currently in love with lip liners, just saying.. :) Then for eye stuff, I got this awesome liquid liner called Studio Liquid Liner in Extreme Blue ( SLL 101 ). I don't remember the price on it, but it was cheap and worth it. Then I have three Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencils, which are, from left to right, Milk ( 604 ), Pacific ( 616 ) and Chery ( spelled with one ''r'' )( 624 ). Last NYX item is their single eye shadow in Black ( ES 01 ) because as weird as it can be, I did not had one plain black shadow before!

The next booth we went to is Eye Kandy. I'm not going to say much because this deserve a post of their own.

Their deal was '' Get a kit with Liquid Sugar, a Brush and 3 glitters for 30$, of get the same kit with 6 glitters for 40$''. As you can see, I went for the six pack! To be quick, the Liquid Sugar thingy is kind of a mixing medium. When you get the glitter plus that liquid on your skin, it not moving, not flaking and sparkling all the way :). I'm pretty sure I'll do a post just on these, but to end about Eye Kandy here, I'm just going to say that this might be my favorite purchase of the day!

The next place we went to is Alcone, which is another make up retailer.

The picture is pretty self explainatory. I got a Beauty Blender Sponge, just to try, for my curiosity. I think it was 15 or 20$. Next to it is a pretty Zebra Small Z-Palette. I got it for 15$, and I really like it! It's a lot sturdier than I would have ever thought! Then going down there an half ounce tube of Duo Lash Adhesive, which I got for 5$. To me it was an awesome deal since at MAC it's 9,50$ plus taxes! Finally, next to it is a normal stainless steel spatula which I think was 5$ too. You know, building the kit :)

Alcone being close to Crown Brushes, that is were we went next. I'm really frustrated with myself, I should have gotten more brushes! Oh well, I'll be prepared next year!

From left to right, there's tossable mascara wands, you know, for the kit! They were 9,00$ for a hundred of them. I decide to '' splurge '' ! Next is the Italian Badger Deluxe Crease Brush ( IB119 ), which is a crease brush as the name say. It's really soft and seriously cheap, I didn't pay more than 4$ for it! Next to it is the Flat Crease Brush ( C316 ). I got it more because I was curious to be honnest, I'm not quite sure what I'll do with it! Then there's the Mini Chisel Brush ( C123 ). I really needed a tiny baby size brush like that to work on the lower lash line and the inner corner! It's perfection for 2$! And last but not least, an other curiosity buy, is the Lash Fan Brush ( C134 ). Like the Flat Crease, I'm not so sure how or when I'll use it, but I will surely figure it out.

The next thing we did was going to Kandee Johnson's Q's & A's. It was an hour of inspiration, sweetness, happyness and all the happy related words you can think mixed. She talked about how she got in the business, who inspired her ( mainly Kevyn Aucoin ), her favorite products and also how important it is to run after your dreams and to make them happen. I know that it it cheesy like no others, but I felt like she said that to me personnally since I am at a momment in my life where important decisions need to be taken.

( Sorry for the poor quality, I'm planing on asking a super good camera for christmas :D )

Then, right after Kandee's Q's & A's, I met Alicia! I don't have any pictures ( like, what the hell? How come I did not get my camera out? ) If you don't know about her, she's also know as FunnyFace Beauty. She's a sweetie! :) Her sister and herself are two gorgeous women :) I wish we could have hanged out a little more, even tho I felt like a failure each and everytime I opened my mouth because of my heavy Quebecer-french-speacker accent... Oh well!

The next thing me and my boyfriend saw was the Saturday Student Competition. It was the plain makeup one, no prosthetics or anything, just make up.  The theme was Alice in Wonderland. Here are the pictures that I got with my not-as-good-as-I-thought-of camera:

I was simply amazed. These students are really talented! There was so much creativity involved, I think that myself and the big group of people armed with our camera where speachless about the job done there.

Since I'm going in chronogical order, the last thing I did before I left was going to the Make Up For Ever booth back. There were a lot of people still, but I wanted something so I went for it. Before showing you what I got, I just want to say that I saw some people going seriously wild, buying for several hundreds of dollars of stuff even with the 40% off. They got tons and tons of stuff just there. It was crazy crazy!! Oh and the cashier, on saturday at least, were quebecers and speaking in french too! I thought it was fun :)

As you can see here, I got the Mat Velvet + Foundation, and funny story here : at the booth they couldn't match us, we had to do it by ourselves. I told my boyfriend at I would need his help to find my color and in joke he said '' Ahah! Start with the lightest one, it should perfectly match! '' And guess what... Me and my Oh so pale skin are proud to be shade 15 okai? Don't judge us! Ahah :) I also picked up the 5 camouflage palette cream, in shade number 1 ( Oh what a surprise ) and of course the color I can use is the lightest one! At least I know that I'm far from skin cancer!
That is what IMATS was for me :) I saw Koren from Enkore Makeup, Elessa from PurseBuzz, Kandee Johnson of course and surely many more, but guess who was to shy to ask for a picture of an autograph? My pale skin and me, of course... I'm sure that next year will be even more awesome :)

I also have some other purchase to show, but they'll be in another post
Thanks for reading, commenting and being awesome,

Don't you love making special friends when you blog?

Hello lovely ladies

I know that it is actually tuesday, and that I'm kind of late, but last wenesday I received the sweetest gift from my very special friend Alicia aka FunnyFace Beauty. It all started when she talked about those EOS lipbalms on her blog, and I left a comment saying how frustrating it is that it is not sold in Canada. She told me that she was actually going to the States the next day, and that she would pick one up for me, which I tought was so sweet and kind ! I was amaze at that! But then, while we were e0mailing back and forth, she told me that her package wasn't ready because she wanted to pick up a few little things that she enjoyed for me. Again, I was really speechless about this. Then, wenesday come and I go to pick up the mail and I see that biiiiiig enveloppe with my name on it. I thought she would have add maybe a gloss, or a nail polish, but no, she's too amazing for that ! I already sent her an e-mail explaining how grateful I am to have her as a friend, and how she really touched me with this marvelous gift.

See all this? I was only expecting a lipbalm! Seriously, I'm blessed to know her.
So this is actually what started it all, the EOS lip balm in Honysuckle Honeydew. Let me tell you something... I LOOOOVE this! Seriously! There are awesome! If I ever go to the States again, I'mm buying all the other ones!

Then I got 2 Wet n Wild Color Icon single shadows in Nutty and Kitten. I played with those and they are so pigmented! Like, serious? These have some good color payoff, if you're on a budget and you want to buy some good make up, go for these, or even the palettes! But stay in the Color Icon range! :)
After that I saw these babies in the package. There is a MAC Dazzleglass in Local Color, a NYC Liquid Lip Shine in Sheer Ruby and a Sally Hansen Volumizing Shield in Plump It Up. I have not tried the Sally Hansen one yet, but I'm in love with the two glosses ! :)

Then there was a Lancome Cils Booster XL Super-Enhancing Mascara base, which I have not tried yet, plus something really awesome that she made me discovered. A Joe Fresh Nail Polish in Powder Blue. GOD! Those polishes dry fast and last forever! Nail polish usually stays on me for maybe 2 days maximum... This one was still there without chiping after 5 days with a little tip wear. It could have last longer, I just decided to took it off to use another nail polish.

Last but surel not the least, she sent me an ELF Brush belt. I was on cloud 9 when I saw this. Alicia is actually a good friend of mine, and we talk a lot, sending e-mail back and forth, or on facebook, and she knows that I want to be a make up artist in the future. And who can be a complete make up artist without a brush belt!? Ahah! In this gift, I saw all her support in my dream. I'm truey lucky to have her as a good friend, who is there for me when ever I need to talk. She's really someone I can trust.

So yes, this is what the lovely and so generous Alicia gave to me, and you can't even imagine how happy I am with everything. I'm really grateful for all the neat stuff she sent to me :) I can't wait to meet her for real at IMATS! Do you know it's 10 days away? :)

Thanks for reading everyone, and don't forget to look at Alicia's blog if you haven't already!

Thanks for reading!

P.s.: I'm 8 followers away from the end of my MAC Giveaway! I can't wait! :)
